The Living Bread of Life

Food Bank Ministry

In November of 2005, Living Branch Community Fellowship, led by Janice Henderson, opened its food bank ministry known as The Living Bread of Life. In just a relatively short time, this ministry has enabled us to touch thousands of lives, and touch the hearts of hundreds of families. The Living Bread of Life food bank is open on Sunday afternoons from 11:45 until 12:45, immediately following the Sunday morning Service of Worship.

In May of 2008, Dee Espinoza, a long time friend of this community and member of Living Branch took over as the Food Bank Team leader. Dee brings years of community and organizational skills to this ministry. We ask that you would lift her up in your prayers as she sets her eyes on how God wants us to continue to touch the hearts and change the lives of those in our community for the Glory of God.

All we ask of our food bank friends is that they are honest in their request, and open to our help. Each food bank friend may return each Sunday to receive the foods available at that time. If you are in need, or know someone in need, we invite you to come and join us on Sunday at The Living Bread of Life.

We know that each and every person goes through some tough times. We aren't here to judge people or to criticize where they are presently at. We do ask that our food bank friends fill out a simple one page questionnaire that goes directly to our Pastor. Pastor Steve uses these forms to pray for our friends, occasionally making a personal visit to their home to extend a hand of welcome.

We are aware of how welcomed a loaf of bread can be. But we are also aware that we would not have done our job if we do not take the time to introduce those that pass through our lives to the Bread that will feed them forever, and the Water that will quench their eternal thirst. That Bread, and that Water is Jesus, our Lord and Savior, and the focus of our food bank ministry. Do you know Him? Have you ever come to a point in your life that you realized that you were condemned in your sin, and needed forgiveness?

The Bread of Life stands ready today to meet your greatest need, Salvation. Tough times will come and go. But God's love will last forever. So whether you are in need, or looking for a place to extend a helping hand, The Living Bread of Life food bank ministry says, "Welcome Home!" Come by and visit us. Experience for yourself the pleasure of serving others. You'll be glad you did.
